Invictus Victories

Great Britain collected seven medals from the 2016 Invictus Games – a multi-sport event launched in 2014 by Prince Harry for injured combat veterans from around the world, held this year in Florida, USA – including four golds.

Gareth Patterson took the novice recurve gold medal after a shoot-off against Nicholas Meunier of Canada, with Martin Clapton rounding out the podium for GBR with bronze.

Angelito Barbierato and Chris Macfadyen made it a Great Britain one-two in the recurve open division respectively, with the pair picking up another medal in the team competition. Alongside Carl Tarry, they beat France to the recurve open team gold.

The novice recurve team triumphed too, with Matthew Elliott, Gareth Patterson, and Martin Clapton wining gold ahead of Canada, with the compound team of  Andy Phillips, Jon Flint and Daniel Grobler collecting a team bronze.
